Centsable Allowance 1 Course Content

Session 1
Having Fun Together as a Family

Budgeting and Fun Go Together

We use having fun together as a family to teach financial savvy! Each aspect of budgeting can be taught with different ways of having fun together.

Session 2
Defining What Household Jobs Need to Be Done

Teaching Life Skills

We use household jobs as a way to teach kids what it is like to work in the real world and to teach them all the needed life skills they will need when they leave home.

Session 3
Getting Started

No Money Needed Yet

We actually start teaching financial savvy without using money! Working together as a team is the foundation for establishing good work habits and that is where we begin.

Session 4
Establishing the Work / Celebrate Cycle

Together in Work and Play

When learning anything new, repetition is our friend. Here we firmly establish that we can work together as a family and have fun together to celebrate our accomplishments.

Session 5
Getting Started with Money

Establishing a Good Work Ethic

Now it is time to introduce money. We earn money based on how we do our jobs, not if we do them, preparing our kids for the work world they will be entering.

Session 6
Establishing the Work / Earn / Celebrate Cycle

Nurturing Family Togetherness

Again, once we teach something we need to solidify the learning by repetition and creating good habits. We also begin to explore the basic concepts of budgeting.
